Materials Research Lab

Stand out with our one-of-a-kind ceramic formulations.

The Materials Research Lab (MRL) is a state-of-the-art facility created to keep us at the forefront of ceramic technologies. Our Ph.D. led team of scientists partners with the U.S. Government, top-tier universities and key customers to research new materials and applications for piezoelectric ceramics and establish baseline formulations for high-performance piezoceramic devices. Our lab’s close proximity to the MRL at U.C. Santa Barbara, one of the top MRLs in the world, further enhances our capabilities and expertise.

Proprietary powder formulations ensure that components are optimized for our transducers and systems. We create and give our clients the competitive edge they need over companies using standard mass-produced ceramic equipment. The MRL team is able to conduct simulations of the entire production process and ensure quality control prior to full-scale manufacture.

The lab is equipped for:

  • Binder Burnout/High Fire
  • Electroding
  • Electromechanical Property Testing
  • Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX)
  • Machining
  • Powder Characterization
  • Powder Processing
  • Polarizing
  • Pressing
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)
  • X-Ray Fluorescence
